I've always assumed life has no inherent meaning. We're just floating around on a ball of dirt and if we want a meaningful life, we first have to create that meaning. We need something to aim for. But what if by deciding on a meaning, we're immediately creating a duality? When before we couldn't succeed or fail because there was nothing to be achieved, now we've placed ourselves in the "unsuccessful zone" and we will only be worth something if we achieve the goal we've set before us.
